Auroville Institute of Applied Technology/AIAT is conducting a Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation affiliated course in Assistant Electrician of 4 month duration.
Fourteen 10th failed candidates are attending this course. They are being trained while working on projects in house wiring, repair and maintenance of home appliances.
These courses are sponsored by T.N. Govt. for the unemployable or dropout youths from the rural area.
The training is conducted on project based learning/Pbl. Trainees practice installation of CCVT cameras, repairing of home appliances and house wiring in various projects of AIAT.
After completing their training by the end of January 2020, pass out candidates are required to accept a placement or to work as self employed. The main issue in today's economic slowdown is to find an adequate placement for them.
Today the students have received a school dress, a book on house wiring, notebooks, a T-shirt, pen, pencil and power tester as part of the training program required by TNSDC. Today Mr. Lavkamad Chandra, Correspondent and principal of AIAT welcomed the trainees and handed over such a set to every trainee.
