NCVT or National Council of Vocational training courses are professional courses of one to two years duration. The NCVT certificates are recognized and accepted in many countries.

The 10th pass trainees of a 2 years course can get +2 or 12th standard certification after appearing in a NIOS -course (see more under NIOS).

Successful trainees of 2 years ITI courses are eligible for lateral entry in a polytechnic college.

The NCVT courses are offered as regular classroom courses (where the trainees are trained only at the ITI) or in Dual System of Training (DST), where the trainees are trained partly at industrial site and partly at the ITI institute (see more under Dual System of Training).

AIAT offers also advanced courses for trainees who have completed the NCVT courses in Fitter.
